Once a year, the College of Fellows gathers at a celebratory dinner in Ottawa, for an evening of food, wine and all things geography.
As part of the College of Fellows Annual Dinner, participants are invited to attend a medal ceremony, where the Society bestows many of its highest honours, including the Massey
Medal, Gold Medal, Camsell
Medal, Sir Christopher Ondaatje Medal for Exploration, the Martin Bergmann Medal for Excellence in Arctic Leadership and Science and the 3M Environmental Innovation Award.
Following the medal ceremony, Fellows enjoy an evening of fine dining, an exceptional keynote speaker, and an extraordinary Silent Auction that exceed any other on the Ottawa calendar.
Most importantly, the Annual Dinner provides our Society an opportunity to welcome and celebrate our newest members of the College of Fellows. This year, our Society proudly welcomed 56 new Fellows. Though diverse in background and location, these most worthy selections share a passion for Canadian geography, and a strong interest in helping our Society achieve its mandate of making Canada better known to Canadians and the world.
