Canadian Geographic Literacy Award

How to Nominate

Objectives

The objectives of the Geographic Literacy Award are:

  1. to honour and recognize individual effort in the development, enhancement and or promotion of geographic literacy in Canadian education
  2. to satisfy requests for a Canadian award recognizing the enhancement of geographic literacy
  3. to help fulfill the CCGE’s public awareness mandate

Program Overview

  • A call for nominations will be made each spring.
  • Letters of nomination must be forwarded to the Chair of the CCGE, briefly explaining why the nominee is to be considered for their development, enhancement and or promotion of geographic literacy in Canadian education. Nominations will be accepted until June 1st of each calendar year.
  • Each nominee will receive documentation guidelines from the CCGE Chair. Documentation will be the responsibility of the nominee and must be received by the CCGE Chair by September 1st of each calendar year.
  • Nominations will be considered by the CCGE Executive. Up to two awards may be made annually. The award winners will be notified by October 1st of each year.
