Pour la rédaction de son mémoire intitulé Bactéries réductrices du soufre et du méthylmercure dans les sédiments des lacs subarctiques, qui porte sur la relation entre le mercure et le méthylmercure d’une part et, d’autre part, l’ensemble des bactéries et les bactéries réductrices du soufre et du méthylmercure dans les sédiments des lacs subarctiques. La recherche a été effectuée au lac Kusawa, dans le Yukon, en collaboration avec le Collège du Yukon, le ministère des Affaires indiennes et du Nord canadien, le ministère des Pêches et des Océans et l’Université du Manitoba.
