Jonathan Tessier and Sophie Cassis, both graduates in outdoor education and adventure tourism at Université du Québec à Chicoutimi, spent a month last summer exploring lac Guillaume-Delisle and nearby lac à l’Eau Claire to scout out the potential for developing ecotourism in the remote region.

Utjulik 2001 Expedition

The minimum objective of Utjulik 2001 is to conduct a magnetometer survey of the remaining sections of the search area extending to the west of Grant Point to determine the feasibility of one of Franklin’s wrecks being found there.
2001 Arctic Land Expedition

The Arctic Land Expedition 2001 will retrace the route traveled by John Franklin and his party in 1821 from Fort Enterprise on Winter Lake to Wilberforce Falls on the Hood River near the settlement of Bathurst Inlet.
