The RCGS supports geographical projects on Canadian topics through
its research & grants program.

The Society has granted funding for numerous projects
including studentships through the Canadian Northern
Studies Trust. Specifically,
the Society sponsors the James W. Bourque Studentship
in Northern Geography, a $5,000 annual scholarship.

The RCGS also awards:
• The
Maxwell Studentship in Human Geography for Master's students ($5,000).
Deadline for applications: January 31 each year.
• The Research & Grants Committee has funding opportunities
for students and the public: other
regular grants (up to $3,000) and group grants (up to $5,000)
(deadline for applications: February 28th of each year).
